Passionate pursuit, Fresh mindfulness, Vintage workmanship, Social engagement, and Technology inspired Sherwin Williams Colormix 2016. I recently got a sneak peak at Sherwin Williams 2016 color forecast and I am loving the bold, vibrant, and metallic colors that they see trending in 2016.
The Colormix is broken down into 4 groups with different themes, here is your sneak peak into each of those groups.
Pure Vida
This forecasting was inspired by natural materials and elements, such as alabaster, marble, and sand.
Natural materials are a great place to get inspired for colors. This group of refreshing neutrals is a perfect place to select a base color to anchor any color scheme for your home.
Mas Amor Por Favor
This group of colors is inspired by meaningful change that starts locally and is driven by social media. This palette connects with many generations, drawing from the excitement of getting with small groups of friends and family.
Nouveau Narrative
This group is inspired by industrial machinery and is looking to the past to inspire a brighter future. These colors feel very historical in nature and American. This grouping is a mixture of deeper neutrals and accents.
Also, for the first time they included one of Sherwin Williams faux paints in the Colormix. This grouping includes Relic Bronze Metallic, which adds to the industrial inspiration from old 20th-century machinery.
Trajectory
The final collection of colors is inspired by technology that is in a constant state of change where art and science mix together to grow our idea of what is possible.
This grouping is made up of jewel-tone and muted blues, purple, and the second metallic faux finish Pewter Cast Metallic.
My Reactions to the Colormix
Overall I am really drawn to the colors in Sherwin Williams’ Colormix. I love the mixture of bold vibrant and softer colors that you see in this forecasting.
What I found most interesting is the metallic colors. Brass and pewter silver are great colors to pull into your home accessories and hardware. These metallic colors are lasting trends that have developed from the gold and chrome accents. I prefer these more aged metals for their character.
